[開発元] Biogen Idec Inc. (BIIB) バイオジェン・アイデック社 [米マサチューセッツ州 Cambridge] はさらに患者 2人が PMLを発症したと情報公開し、1 Oct 2010 現在、PML発症 計 70人となった。

[ウイルス]感染症 progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy 進行性多巣性白質脳症 PML による死者 14人 (Weston, Mass., biotech company 社報告)。同事象により 全世界での使用一時中断(2005年)した。
バイオジェン・アイデック社発表: 全世界での PML 全発症率 0.91 per 1000 patients 患者 1000人中 0.91人。
