ガーナ共和国 Ashanti Region アシャンティ州 Offinso Municipality [Municipal District] の 1農村 Asuboi Township (州都 Kumasi クマシ市から約 80 km) の住民 2500人超が寄生虫 オンコセルカ (回旋糸状虫 Onchocerca volvulus )に感染し オンコセルカ症 (河川盲目症 African river blindness) のリスクあり。
同地域では ブユ (black fly)に刺されて住民の 70%以上が感染している
The Asuboi Township is located in the middle of the thick Abofour Forest, about 50 miles or 80 kilometers from Kumasi. The community is sandwiched by 2 fast flowing rivers, Subin and Nkyereade.
