アルゼンチン[首都 ブエノスアイレス特別区 ブエノスアイレス市の南 17 km] ブエノスアイレス州 Quilmes キルメス [パルティード, 郡/ 郡都 キルメス市の人口 230 810人]地域で生活していた 31歳の「trash collector ごみ収集人」がハンタウイルス属種に感染し、転帰として死亡。
彼は父親として、一日数回、市の焼却場で食べ物や飲み物を集めていた。膨大なごみの山で、販売、リサイクル、生活するためのものを探している数十人と同じように。
この数週間、彼は毎日、ごみ収集場に出かけており、2010年12月20日発症し近くの医療機関に受診したが、診断不明であった。

His mother explained that “he began to have serious respiratory problems and was exhausted and very tired; 2 days later he was totally incapacitated and could not move.”

病院 Quilmes Isidoro Iriarte Hospital 受診時、重症肺炎を呈し、ハンタウイルス[属種]感染症として治療を受けた。市当局者は患者の家を訪れ、患者の娘たちと妻を病院 Eduardo Oller de Dan Francisco Solano Hospital に送った。家族は 2010年12月30日午後まで観察下におかれた(感染所見なく、その後、退院となった)。

臨床像は腎症候群性出血熱というよりハンタウイルス肺症候群に一致するので、恐らく、特に臨海港湾都市の Rattus クマネズミ属種を宿主とし、広範に分布する Asian Seoul アジア ソウル ウイルスよりも、New World 新世界のハンタウイルスである。
Since the clinical picture is compatible with hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, rather than hemorrhagic fever with renal involvement, the virus involved was most likely a New World hantavirus, rather than the widely-distributed Asian Seoul hantavirus found in Rattus species, particularly in maritime port cities.

[南アメリカ 北東部] フランス海外県 Guyane ギュイヤンヌ・フランセーズ県([French Guiana] フランス領ギアナ) Arrondissement of Cayenne カイエンヌ郡 Macouria [canton カントン 小郡]に住む住民は 2010年12月第4週 (23日を含む週)、ハンタウイルス[属種]感染症 肺病変で死亡。
同県では 2008年から 3人目 (2010年の 2人目)。

[第 1例目] 2009年3月、同郡 Remire-Montjoly [commune コミューン 基礎自治体]の住宅地に住む 58歳男性死亡。患者が住んでいた場所の近くで、野生のげっ歯類を捕獲 ( Pasteur Institute of Guyane[出典原文] 同県パスツール研究所) したところ、その一部はハンタウイルス属種を効果的に保有していた。
[第 3例目] カイエンヌ郡 Macouria に住んでいた。

These viruses are transmitted by several species of rodents, which, in Guyane [出典原文], are Zygodontomys brevicauda [トウマウス] and Oecomys bicolor [bicolored Arboreal rice rat].

Although the specific hantavirus involved in this and previous cases in French Guiana have not been mentioned, 2 hantaviruses have been documented in neighboring western Venezuela: Cano delgado (host Sigmodon alistoni [ブログ投稿者注 alstoni ミゾバコトンラット]) and Maporal (host Oligoryzomys fluvescens [ブログ投稿者注 flavescens キイロコメネズミ]), and are likely present in French Guiana as well [ベネズエラ西部で報告されているこれら 2種のげっ歯類を宿主とするハンタウイルス属の 2種がフランス領ギアナにも生息しそうである].

regional Health SEREMI [Regional Ministerial Secretariat] 州保健当局の通知は [21 Dec 2010]。
同州では 2010年に入って 3人目。

As for the health of this case of infection, [epidemiologist Marco] Acuna explained that the patient had presented with cardiopulmonary syndrome, a situation that was slow to progress, with some added kidney [function] alterations, so will be expected to remain at least a week more interned in the [*] Coyhaique Hospital.

in Spanish) reported that nationally, Chile has had 59 reported cases of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome in 2010 with 20 deaths, and a case fatality rate of 34 percent. The number of cases in 2010 is more than were expected (37 cases) but less than in the epidemic years of 2001 and 2002.

これまで(2010年)、マレコ県北西部 Puren プレン市 [人口 13 917人。首都サンティアゴから南 650 km]の Tranaman 地域(area)で、ハンタウイルス感染症により46歳の労働者の死亡が確認されている。

同県北部 コジプジ Collipulli 市[人口 22 354人 2005年 Wikipedia/ 多くは農業、近年 林業拡大]
病院 Collipulli Hospital で23歳の女性患者が先週末、死亡した。死因はまだ確定していない。ハンタウイルス[属種]感染症の新規疑い患者として対応するため、同州南部 カウティーン県[州都] Temuco テムコ市 [サンティアゴの南 約670km]の病院 Temuco Regional Hospital に緊急移送している間に、死亡した。
コジプジ市に近い San Andres の農村地域で幼い子ども 2人と暮らしていた。

一方、この数時間で、同コジプジ Collipulli 市の農村地帯 Niblinto で同じ症状の別の患者 1人 (51歳男性)が報告された。病院 Temuco Hospital にて、病状は安定している。

Although not stated, the hantavirus responsible for HPS [hantavirus pulmonary syndrome] in the area mentioned above is Andes virus. Chile has had a series of HPS cases especially in Jan-May this year (2010), and the season for transmission is again coming, with reports of new suspected cases and warnings about the risk of infections and how to prevent them.

2010年10月19日、急死した 米国コロラド州南西部 Montezuma モンテズマ郡(County)の男性は、げっ歯類の糞尿からハンタウイルス属種に感染した ( Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment コロラド州公衆衛生環境局 獣医師発表 [29 Oct 2010])。検査により死因は確認された (10月29日)。
患者は、同郡 Mancos 町[人口 1 119人。2000年 Wikipedia]に住む 35歳男性 (建設業, 非常勤)で、げっ歯類の糞に接触する場所、数か所を訪れている。
モンテズマ郡の最後のハンタウイルス感染死者は 1993年であった。死亡した女性は San Miguel サンミゲル郡で感染した。
La Plata ラプラタ郡では 1985年以降、死者 3人を含む多くのハンタウイルス感染者が登録されている。死亡例は 1993年 1例、1998年 2例であった。

ハンタウイルス属の Sin Nombre virus シンノンブレウイルスの可能性が高い。主要な宿主は deer mouse ( Peromyscus maniculatus シロアシネズミ属 シカシロアシネズミ)である。
