患者 25歳男性。(首都 サンティアゴ・デ・チレ市の ISP [Public Health Institute] にて感染確認)。ハンタウイルス[属種]感染症 [Mod. TY氏解説: 同地域では 疑いもなく アンデスウイルス ... doubtless is Andes virus] による重症肺炎のため Coyhaique Regional Hospital 州立病院の ICU 集中治療室に入院中で、改善している (2010年12月22日、人工呼吸器、[酸素]マスクを外した)。

in Spanish) reported that nationally, Chile has had 59 reported cases of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome in 2010 with 20 deaths, and a case fatality rate of 34 percent. The number of cases in 2010 is more than were expected (37 cases) but less than in the epidemic years of 2001 and 2002.
