水害( floods 洪水)の被災者のために開設した パキスタン北西部 Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa カイバル パクトゥンクワ州 Shangla シャングラ (district)県 Bisham [ブログ投稿者注: Wikipediaより Besham Qala /Besham と思われる] 町内の医療施設に出務し、一晩過ごした後、発熱、死亡した医師の死因は Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever CCHF クリミア・コンゴ出血熱によることが確認された(下記 ATH 病院発表 1 Oct 2010)。
彼は 同州 Abbottabad アボタバード県の病院 Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) の研修医 resident medical officer RMO であった。
ATH 病院長 Dr Iftikhar は National Institute of Health (NIH) 国立衛生研究所 [首都 Islamabad イスラマバード]から届いた検査結果より死因は CCHFウイルスと確認されたと語った。

死亡した医師の弟は 間欠[的な発]熱と血小板減少を伴い、ここ数日間、同様の症状を呈している。病院 ATH には感染症専門医がいないので、パキスタン医科学研究所 Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS イスラーマーバード)に紹介することになった。…
同州 Mansehra マンセラ県の病院 King Abdullah Teaching Hospital には、他に 4人の CCHF 疑い患者が入院中である。

2 people — a young doctor and a Chinese engineer — have died from a mysterious disease, while a schoolboy was stated to be in a critical condition at the Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) for the last one week, official sources said.
