2010年ハイチ地震 [ハイチ時間 2010年1月12日16時53分（UTC＝21時53分、日本時間＝13日6時53分 発生]のため退去した人々の定住住宅地の 1つ
で最初に[15 May 2010]、 ジフテリア Diphtheria [細菌 Corynebacterium diphteriae 感染症]が発生した。
2010年2月から、地震で退去した人々の避難場所 camp で暮らす 推定 888 000人がジフテリアに対するワクチン接種を受けた (220 000人を超える8歳未満の子供を含む)。ワクチン接種キャンペーンの 2期は、2010年6月に始める予定で、避難場所以外で生活する人を対象とする。
