Subject PRO/AH/EDR> Kunjin/Barmah Forest/Ross River viruses – Australia (WA)
Western Australia 西オーストラリア州 北部 Kimberley キンバリー地域で、Ross River virusと似た症状を来たす Kunjin virus (ともに 蚊媒介ウイルス)が今シーズン初めて発見されたので、保健局は情報配信 8 Apr 2010を行った。
People most likely to be affected by Kunjin virus are newcomers to affected regions, such as babies, young children, tourists or new employees, but anyone experiencing these symptoms should seek medical advice quickly.
この3か月で Ross River ウイルス感染症および Barmah Forest ウイルス感染症 計 13症例がキンバリー地域で報告され、西オーストラリア州北部では [Kunjin ウイルス以外の] 蚊媒介ウイルスによる伝染も続いている。Murray Valley 脳炎を含めて (Kunjin, Murray Valley encephalitis [マレーバレー脳炎ウイルス], Ross River, Barmah Forest viruses)、特異的な治療やワクチンはないので、蚊に刺されないように気をつけることが極めて重要。
